Get StartedWellington Art Gallery is a small, high-end gallery that saw its sales drop due to the pandemic. They wanted to move quickly to be able to offer art online both via a virtual tour and via a detailed search mechanism. They wanted to make an app that would be competitive in the art market but still hold true to the elegant Wellington brand.
Design an app to bring an expanded audience to the world of high-end art by giving them a similar experience to viewing the gallery in person—while also allowing the gallery’s art buyers to seamlessly purchase art online.
Based on the location of the gallery and the desire to draw focus to the art, I chose a neutral desert sunset color palette.
To accent the desert colors and add elegance, I chose neutral colors that would be easy to read and use, but also blend into the background so the art would stand out more.And to make the site more usable, I used both text and universal iconography.
